Analysis

Free and Pro. All implemented reference adapters and manual analysis tools are available in Free.

Run and review an analysis

  1. Open IPS → Media Cleanup → Analysis (Analyse) and start or refresh the analysis.
  2. Let background processing complete. Check progress and freshness; a partial or outdated result is not a completed review.
  3. Open the duplicate and unused-media lists and inspect individual items before selecting anything for cleanup.
  4. After substantial uploads, content edits or a plugin change, refresh the analysis before starting a new cleanup.

Exact duplicates

Duplicate groups identify matching file content, not merely similar-looking photographs. Review which attachment should remain and where each attachment is referenced. Two files that look alike can have different content; they need not appear in the same duplicate group. The plugin rechecks file identity before making changes.

Potentially unused media

The unused-media list means the enabled, supported reference checks did not find a use. It cannot prove that no external page, custom database structure, theme code or unsupported builder uses the file. Check the actual content and any extensions that embed media in their own format.

Review the reference sources in Settings. Known unsupported or unsafe references can block changes. Reducing scan coverage is not a way to establish that an item is safe to delete.

Media quality and exports

Under Media quality (Medienqualität), review missing alternative text and file-size/dimension findings. Enter meaningful alternative text based on the image’s purpose and save the edit. The tool does not generate AI alternative text, compress images or resize files.

Use the available duplicate or unused-media CSV export to review findings with another shop manager. An export is a report, not a backup of the media or a guarantee that every listed item is safe to remove.

Next step

Continue with Cleanup and run a test before executing selected changes.
