Cleanup

Free and Pro. Manual single and bulk cleanup are free features. Pro scheduled analysis does not automatically delete media.

Before making changes

  • Keep a current database and uploads backup and confirm that recovery storage is protected and writable.
  • Finish a fresh analysis and review the media in the actual pages, products or builder that use it.
  • Start with a small selection. Keep enough disk space for temporary recovery copies.

Clean a duplicate group

  1. Open Cleanup → Duplicates (Bereinigung → Duplikate) and inspect the group.
  2. Run Check uses (Nutzungen prüfen) if the group has not been checked yet. Review the attachment marked Will be kept (Wird behalten), file details and detected references.
  3. Run the test action and read its proposed replacements and blocked items. Resolve uncertainty before continuing.
  4. Confirm the real cleanup for the reviewed selection. The plugin performs fresh checks and records recovery information before permitted changes.
  5. Review the result and visit affected pages and product images. After a successful small check, use bulk cleanup for further reviewed groups.

Clean unused-media candidates

Open Cleanup → Unused media (Ungenutzte Medien). Select only items you have independently reviewed, run the test action and inspect its result. Confirm cleanup only for that selection. A candidate with no detected reference can still be used in unsupported content or outside this WordPress installation.

Understand blocked and skipped items

A cleanup can leave items untouched because references are unsupported, files changed after analysis, recovery protection failed or another safety check could not be satisfied. Review the item-level explanation. Do not bypass the block by manually deleting files to reproduce the intended cleanup.

Verify and recover

Check image rendering and links in the affected content after each small batch. If an expected image is missing, stop further cleanup and use Recovery. Temporary copies continue to occupy storage until removed or expired, so a successful cleanup may not immediately free all reported space.
