Sidecart and cart

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Free and Pro. The Sidecart, AJAX cart actions and IPS Cart surface belong to Free.

Configure the Sidecart

  1. Open the Sidecart settings in IPS → Cart and enable the module.
  2. Configure the available display, text and cart-action options, then save.
  3. Add a product from a listing and from its product page. Open the Sidecart and confirm that product, variation, quantity and price match.
  4. Change a quantity, remove an item and follow the cart and checkout actions. Check the empty state and narrow-screen layout.

Configure the cart page

Enable the IPS Cart surface in its module settings and keep the WooCommerce Cart page assigned. Check the available cart controls with the same customer session used for the Sidecart. WooCommerce remains responsible for cart contents, coupons, shipping and totals; the surfaces share that state.

Use a variable product and a cart with shipping in addition to a simple-product check. Wait for the cart update to complete before comparing totals. If another extension changes prices or item data, test that exact scenario on staging.

Express payment buttons

Eligible provider wallets can appear in supported Sidecart slots. They require the corresponding configured WooCommerce payment plugin and an eligible device, browser, country, currency and cart. A missing wallet is not necessarily an IPS display error. Normal checkout payments and Sidecart express payments have separate support scopes.

Troubleshoot inconsistent contents

Check whether full-page or API caching is serving a stale cart, and review failed browser requests. Exclude customer-specific cart and checkout responses from caching. Compare with the native WooCommerce cart on staging to identify theme or extension interactions.
